The golden trefoil on a blue background represents children everywhere.  The tree leaves of the trefoil represent the three-fold Promise as laid down by Lord Baden-Powell.  The stars represent the Promise and Law and the vein pointing upwards the compass needle showing the way.

February 22

This day commemorates the birthdays of Lord Baden Powell (1857 -1941), the Founder of Scouting and Guiding and his wife, Olave (1889 - 1977), former World Chief Guide.  We celebrate the occasion with parties and special events.

Thinking Day on the Internet (TDOTI) can be fun!  Watch for it this year.

Units and individuals donate money to the Canadian World Friendship Fund.  It is used to help adults and girls who are chosen to represent Canada at international events and camps and for official visitors from other countries.

Some money helps associations when natural disasters, like floods or earthquakes strike.

WAGGGS owns four World Centres

They are our homes away from home where members of Guiding may stay as visitors, or as participants at events.  The World Centres are Our Chalet in Switzerland, Pax Lodge in London, England, Our Cabana in Mexico and Sangam in India.  The Canadian World Friendship Fund helps with the upkeep of the World Centres.

Put a touch of International in all your Unit meetings with a song, game, story, activity, food picture, or visitor from another country.
